Please click on each heading to discover the answer to your question:

Do I have to receive vegetables every week?

No, you can opt for our fortnightly share and receive your vegetables only every other week.

Do you do farm gate sales and can I visit the farm anytime?

No. We only sell to CSA members on pick up days. The rest of the time we are busy on the farm growing your vegetables. We also hold regular farm tours which are a great opportunity to see the farm. Sign up to our email newsletter to find out when they are held.

How much does it cost?

See our STORE page for this season’s prices.

Can I try before I commit to a full membership?

No. Because vegetables take up to 3 months to grow before harvest we need to know that we can sell our produce before we spend this time lovingly tending it. However, sign up for our email newsletter to hear about our occasional farm stand, farm tours with produce sales and one-off boxes.

Do I have to pay for a full season up front?

No. You can pay for a half-season, or join anytime for the rest of the current season.

What if I want vegetables for more than one season?

Just buy another share after the first season is finished. We will send you an email to remind you. Existing customers are given priority when new season shares become available.

Waiting List

We are a small farm focused on growing better not bigger, so shares sell out fast! If there are no shares currently available, you can add your name to our waiting list and we will notify you when a spot becomes available. If you like you can still join our mailing list to receive our weekly newsletter and find out what’s happening on the farm and get seasonal recipes and vegetable storage tips.

How do I pay for my share?

You pay online through this website using our secure checkout with credit card or direct bank transfer. Click here to select and purchase a share.

Can I pick my vegetables up from the farm?

Yes, we love it when you visit our farm. In fact, we offer a $5 discount if you come to the farm to pick up your vegetables. It is a great opportunity to see what's growing and chat to me, the farmer. The farm is located at:

170 Old Kurrajong Road, Richmond NSW 2753

Pick up time and date is dependent on the share you purchase.  Please review the products in our store for details.

What are the seasonal on-farm events?

3 or 4 times per year we will hold an on-farm event where CSA members are invited to visit the farm and take part in a special seasonal planting or harvesting occasion. This may be planting the yearly garlic crop, harvesting pumpkins or simply a farm picnic where you can meet other like-minded CSA members and enjoy spending time on the farm. We believe that being a part of Five Serves Produce should be more than just picking up your vegetables each week. Coming to our on-farm events lets you be part of the community and experience everything our farm has to offer.

What can I expect to get in my weekly share?

A weekly share contains between 8 and 15 different vegetables depending upon the season. A typical Summer share might be full of tomatoes, garlic, lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, beans, capsicums or eggplant. In Autumn or Winter you may receive carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks and leafy greens. In Spring there might be fresh peas, baby beetroots and crisp rocket leaves, and pumpkins are often part of the autumn share. However as growing vegetables depends upon the weather, insect pressure and many other variables, it is impossible to say exactly how each crop will perform each year. That is part of belonging to a CSA and many customers say they enjoy the surprise each week of finding out what is available on the farm. Rest assured that you will always get a variety of fresh, nutritious and delicious vegetables and herbs each week.

Will my box be full of unusual vegetables that I don’t like?

No. We grow many popular vegetables and only have one or two less well known items each week. Most people are excited to try these few new varieties with the support of our weekly recipe ideas. In fact, some even say that this is one of the benefits of being part of the CSA – they never would have known how much they liked them if they hadn’t tried them!

What if I can’t pick up my share this week or I am going away?

If you are going away on holidays or for another reason you can have someone else pick up your share for you that week. If this isn't possible please contact us at least a week before and we may be able to defer your box by one week, once in the season. If you will be away more often than this perhaps a CSA is not for you, or you should skip a season and rejoin when you return. Please send us an email to discuss this as we do try to be flexible. If you don't contact us to let us know in advance, unfortunately you will just miss that week's share.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we do deliver to parts of the lower to mid Blue Mountains, Penrith and the Hawkesbury.

Can I choose what goes in my box?

No. We include vegetables that are in season and at their peak, ready for harvest. You get the best of the farm each week. However, if you grow your own herbs at home and don't want duplicates please contact us and let us know which herbs you don't want to receive in your box. Likewise if you require a particular herb just ask us by Monday evening and if we are currently growing it we can include it in your box. Other special needs may be able to be taken into consideration within reason.
