At Five Serves Produce we run a CSA program where customers commit to a regular vegetable subscription and then pick up their produce each week or fortnight at the farm, or have it delivered.
If you choose to pick up your share from the farm you can meet other customers and talk directly to your farmer. It's a great opportunity to ask how to use your produce in delicious recipes for the week.
You can also see the plants growing and ask questions about producing your own vegetables at home. For more information about our CSA, visit our FAQ’s page or go to our STORE to become a member and start eating the most delicious vegetables you’ve ever tasted!
What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
Community Supported Agriculture is a program that was developed in Japan by a group of mothers who were concerned about the quality, freshness and nutritional benefits of the food that was available in their local area. They partnered with a local farmer who grew healthy seasonal food especially for them, in exchange for a commitment that they would each buy a weekly share.
Payment was made in advance to enable the farmer to purchase the seed, compost and equipment needed to grow the food at the start of the season. It was a mutually beneficial relationship that has been replicated time and time again the world over. CSA programs have become a popular choice for communities wanting to support their own local food systems and connect with where their food comes from.
