This week the goats pushed their way through the plastic into our seedlings tunnel overnight, tearing a hole and causing havoc. Knocking over newly potted capsicums, eating broccoli, cauliflower, kale, fennel and leek seedlings and ripping them out of the trays. Luckily they left the lettuce, baby spinach, onions, celery and chard alone, but it was still devastating.
The leeks and kale will grow back from their haircut and be no worse off, and the capsicums were righted and will survive. However the fennel, broccoli and cauliflower seedlings have been halved in number. Luckily we always seed extra, and will still have some to plant this week. Next step is to fix the hole to prevent rabbits from getting in and finishing what the goats started.
